I'm talking about the wagon, of course. The name was used in the early 80's apparently for a coupe before being brought back in wagon form with the potential for a Hemi V8 in 2004.

I remember seeing the Magnum at the Boston auto show that year (or 2005...I forget which). I was a baby-faced high schooler able to get in on children's admission when my friends and I saw it: black, Hemi, wagon. It was a raffle that I signed both my parents up for (had to be 18 or older!) even though I didn't have a chance in Hell of winning. Those entries resulted in my parents getting quite a bit of junk mail for "no apparent reason whatsoever".

Fun facts:

- The Dodge Magnum was the last mid-sized station wagon sold by an American manufacturer.

- AWD was an option on SXT and RT models in 2005.

- The SRT-8 had a 0-60 time of 5.1 seconds.

- The Magnum was sold as the Chrysler 300 in markets outside of the US.

- In November of 2007, Chrysler announced "The Magnum, along with the PT Cruiser convertible, the Crossfire, and the Pacifica were not earning their keep."

- The Magnum was, essentially, replaced by the Journey. -_-

Not bad, actually (you know, until they decided to stop making it right after an update).

All this came from my morning commute where an RT Magnum was in front of me and had a very nice V8 rumble upon pulling out of the street. I quite liked the Magnum and still do. I'm a little upset at myself for having forgotten about it especially as it was the first wagon that I personally wanted.

I would love to own one, nearly everything about it is great. Check out JGrabow's trials with his.

I saw one brand-new in 2005, when I was 14 and following my grandma at a Chrysler dealership for a service on her Intrepid.

It sat in the middle of the dealership, it was a black RT with the grey interior. As I marveled at it, the salesmen fired it up to move it for a new vehicle, and I heard that HEMI fire up in all its glory.

Love at first sight.

Fast-forward 4 years, I had a semi-secure job with a good paycheck. What did I do? I took a loan waaay to high for any 18 years-old, and I bought myself an 05 rwd RT.

I still have it, and I still love every aspect of my Maggie. (above picture was last year, it's now in winter storage).

By the way, the Magnum (and everything on the LX platform except the Challenger) are classified as full-size, not mid-size.

Someone needs to Hellcat a Magnum. It just needs to happen.

That's great...I wish I had the ability to go back, remember the car, then buy it. Need a V8 in my life.

As for the mid-size, I basically copied that piece from some info I found. Not sure if they classified it as full or mid-sized based on cargo room or if it was flat-out wrong haha.

Yeah, Wiki.

It's curious that the 300 is classified as a full-size, and the Magnum as a mid-size... since they are essentially the same vehicle.

And what are you waiting for? They are getting cheap nowadays!

Our local sheriff's office had a couple of Magnums they used for patrol vehicles. I haven't seen them around in a while, so I don't know of they're still in operation. This is Travis County, TX.

I wasn't going to put mid-sized because of the same thought process...nothing about it is mid-sized. Then I thought cargo space and that perhaps there was a sort of CUV-before-CUVs-were-a-thing that qualified as a wagon though it wasn't.

And I would if it was two years ago and I didn't buy a FoST.

It's in the plans...

As soon as I can find a rolled-over Hellcat. Trying to find one without massive front-end damage is hard, for some reasons.

I saw a couple local patrol vehicles up here when I was in high school. They look good in police spec.

They did. Honestly, I've never been a very big fan of the looks of the Magnum. But it does look sharp in subdued police livery.

Apparently it can be done in just a few minutes since Chrysler loves using the push body fasteners and a couple of screws.

Give one to an Irish rally driver and wait. They always crash back-end-first
